"same shit, just a different year" is such an echoing introduction that has lingered throughout the process of building this foundation.. or sort of bridge, to growth, closing with a solidified seal of "compassion, if it's just like mine". and I feel like I’ve learned so much more about myself and where I would like to be when it comes to mental spaces, codependency, relationships and self nurturing. I think this project was something that I wanted to use as a gateway in the right direction, and it displays so much in leading me so. from addressing the butterflies we all get when we start something new and exciting, to being anxious about fucking it all up. to fantasizing about what could be while closing doors on past trauma to make room for what you thought could heal you, but finding out that there's parts of you that still need healing or are stuck with a grotesque likeness for the toxicity. realizing that the person who you thought could potentially build a future with you, leaving you with disappointment and depression.. and acknowledging being disappointed and depressed instead of ignoring it, having a support system to get you through the smallest and biggest things, then isolation. closing the world off, giving yourself time to reflect and really establish certain boundaries not only on the outside but the inside, and refortifying yourself, finding your way back to yourself, being more graceful to yourself.. loving in totality who you are and have become. I'm proud of the timeline, happy with the places I've been and places I'll go from here. I try to remind myself to not be too hard on myself, and accept what isn't for me.. while what is will find me. x.
